Embleton is a friendly village which has a local shop, garage and pubs serving food. A short walk brings you to a wide sweep of golden sands which was awarded ‘Beach of the Year’ in 2017 BBC Countryfile Magazine Awards. The coastal village of Beadnell is only 7 miles north and is popular with watersports enthusiasts. Windsurfing, sea kayaking and scuba diving are often enjoyed here. An extra couple of miles up the coastline is Seahouses; a great stop for fish and chips as well as many other eateries. Boat trips to the nearby Farne Islands depart regularly from the harbour. Heading a little further north brings you to Bamburgh, famous for its majestic castle. A short drive inland is the market town of Alnwick, where there is a wide array of shops and restaurants.
