Head to Garstang, where you can embark on a lovely stroll along the Milennium way by the river or along the Lancaster Canal which runs through the town and beyond. Finish the day off with a drink at the Th’Owd Tithe Barn by the canal or at one of the many local pubs and bars. Wander further north to Lancaster for a fantastic outing, with Lancaster Castle, Williamson Park with its butterfly house and the Judges Lodgings Museum being points of interest; the city also backs onto Morcambe, where the coastal delight of Morecambe Bay can be discovered. Spend some time along the Fylde Coast and visit the towns of Lytham St Annes, Blackpool, Cleveleys and Fleetwood, or wander towards Cumbria where the vast Lake District National Park awaits.
