Nestled at the foot of the Derwent Valley in the Derbyshire Peak District, Matlock Bath is a unique village that lies on the southeastern edge of the Peak District National Park. A popular tourist attraction since the 17th century, this beautiful village has earned nicknames such as the seaside resort miles from the sea and Little Switzerland . The village boasts plenty of things to keep the whole family entertained. There s a long street of shops, cafes and places of interest like the Aquarium. Riverside walks are ideal for a shady stroll. Within an easy drive is the splendid Chatsworth House (8.5 miles), Haddon Hall (7.5 miles) and Crich Tramway Village (5.5 miles). You can take advantage of the excellent walking routes around the Derwent Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
