A great abode for walkers and lovers of the great outdoors, the village of Shap sits on Wainwright s Coast to Coast route. Take to well trodden tracks and trails and walk straight from your door to the likes of Shap Abbey, Shap Summit or Wet Sleddale Reservoir, all of which lie within 4.5 miles. After adventurous days hiking, cycling and throwing sticks for your pups, treat yourselves to a night off from the kitchen and indulge in a meal from a local eatery, or head further afield to the market town of Penrith (11 miles) for more options. Your nearest lake is Haweswater (7 miles), but if you fancy a family and dog friendly day out, make the 12 mile trip to Ullswater where you can jump on a steamer. Step inside this inviting home where you will arrive to a thoughtful welcome pack including tea, coffee, sugar, milk, eggs and bread. After stocking the cupboards with your provisions, make your way into the light and spacious lounge/diner. Stay warm by the wood burner and enjoy time spent cosied up on one of the sofas with a good book or your favourite programme on the TV/DVD. After a bubble bath, continue your morning with an al fresco coffee in the garden.
