Situated at the head of Bassenthwaite Lake, this contemporary property is ideal for walkers, families or those simply looking for a restful holiday. Take strolls around the lake (150 metres), go birdwatching at Dubwath Silver Meadow Nature Reserve (300 metres), or head to Dodd Wood (5 miles) for waymarked forest walks and fantastic views. Challenge yourself to a hike up Skiddaw (7.5 miles) or take a slightly easier route up Blencathra from the Field Studies Centre (12.5 miles), admiring the variety of great viewpoints along the way. Families can enjoy a day out at Mirehouse and Gardens (5.5 miles), with its four playgrounds, heather maze and wildflower meadow. This cottage is attached to a guest house and is located next to another holiday property. Entry is via an iron gate and up a few steps through an enclosed patio.
