Set on the River Derwent at the north western fringe of the Lake District, the Norman town of Cockermouth is rich in history and character. Take a tour around Wordsworth House, enjoy a tipple in the 175 year old Jennings Brewery and Museum or browse a second hand bookshop before grabbing a bite to eat at one of the town s many independent tearooms, cafes, pubs and riverside restaurants. Just a short drive out of town will bring you into the beautiful Lake District National Park, where memorable walks can be enjoyed both on high and low ground. Follow the lakeside path around Buttermere, 10 miles away, or take on the challenging Grisedale Pike, 11 miles away before enjoying a hearty meal at one of the national park s many friendly pubs. Inside, this Grade II listed property has been tastefully modernised with fresh neutral decor, cosy soft furnishings and chic contemporary appliances.
