This tranquil location is a great base for exploring the Lake District. Superb walks and trails, from gentle strolls to hikes, are available right from the doorstep of the cottage and a traditional pub just 400 metres away. You ll be right at the base of Blencathra, also known as saddleback, with its six fell tops and magnificent far stretching views. Ullswater lake is 11 miles from here with plenty to partake in including boating, windsurfing and fishing. The spectacular Aira Force is 8.5 miles, another great walking route which passes the cascading waterfall. Head to the market town of Keswick (10 miles) and visit the many tourist attractions, restaurants and shops. This pretty, stone built, period property has recently been refurbished throughout and is the perfect accommodation for four people and one dog. Step into the hallway and hang your coats and place your boots. Head through to the cosy lounge and find comfortable sofas, a warming wood burner and a TV with Sky and DVD player. The kitchen/diner is open plan and you ll find all the amenities you need in the kitchen, including an oven, hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine/dryer. A four seater dining table is situated in front of the window offering wonderful views across the northern Lake District fells. A shower room with WC completes the ground floor. Upstairs are the two bedrooms, both twin rooms, though one can be made up as a double if required. The main bathroom is also on this floor and has a shower over the bath and a separate WC. Outside the property is a pretty garden with lots of bushes, climbers and shrubs. Take a seat on the garden furniture and spend the evening soaking up the surrounding views, or enjoy a morning coffee wildlife spotting. Red squirrels and a variety of birds have been known to visit the garden so keep your eyes peeled.
