Perfectly situated on the edge of the Lake District National Park, the village of Bampton has a little shop, post office, tearoom and pub and is just 2 miles from Haweswater. With gentle lakeside strolls in abundance, the sheltered location makes it a peaceful haven for wildlife. Find some great hillwalking from here, with routes leading to High Street, Kidsty Pike and the Garburn Pass all within 10 miles from the door. Visit Ullswater, 10 miles, and spend a day on the water either by hiring a kayak or enjoy the picturesque surroundings on a gentle cruise on one of the Ullswater steamers. The nearest town is Penrith, 10.5 miles away, where there is a choice of supermarkets, an artisan bakery, cake shop, and a good range of independent shops in the town centre. There are two double bedrooms with views to the fells and the twin bedroom has a quaint window seat. The family bathroom has a shower over the bath. Outside, to the rear of the cottage, a pleasant patio has a picnic table and is situated beside Howes Beck and waterfall, perfect for dining alfresco at any time of the day. Take your morning coffee and listen to the birdsong as you sip, or relax with a glass of wine as the sun goes down. To the front, there is a shrubbed garden with seating as well as off road parking for two cars. Need to know: 3 bedrooms 2 doubles and 1 twin. 1 bathroom with shower over the bath, 1 separate WC.
