Hop on the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, otherwise known as the La al Ratty, and travel 7 miles to Boot. On your return, treat yourselves to a night off from the kitchen and tuck into a tasty pub meal close to home. Just 12.5 miles from home lies the valley of Wasdale. With England s highest mountain, deepest lake and smallest church, it really is worth a visit. Head inside this Victorian home which is brimming with character and charm. Leave boots in the porch and step into the welcoming lounge. Exposed beams line the ceiling, and a large wood burner keeps the chill at bay. Pick one of the sofas to relax on and switch on the TV or DVD for a cosy night in. A selection of books is available for you to delve into and there are DVDs so you can enjoy a film night. An archway leads to the dining room with verdant views where a long table invites you to dine together for communal meals. With two large fan ovens, six gas hobs, two dishwashers and a microwave, find all you need to rustle up big feasts. The drawers and cupboards are stocked with utensils, pots, pans and crockery to make your stay as easy as possible. Gather at the breakfast bar for a drink or utilise the space to prepare ingredients. Through the kitchen, you will find the utility room. This is handily equipped with a large fridge/freezer, washing machine, dryer and plenty more space to store coats and shoes should you need it. The first of ten bedrooms is the ground floor double, suited to less mobile guests. It has a TV and en suite shower room with WC and there are no steps between the bedroom, en suite, lounge, dining room and kitchen. Next, there is a triple room with a king size bed (can be made up as a twin if requested at the time of booking), a single bed and sofa with a wall mounted TV. An ornamental fireplace adds character, and this room is also treated to an en suite bathroom with a shower over the b shaped bath and WC. A door from this triple room leads to the annexe suite where there is a king size bedroom with a dining table and TV, en suite shower room with WC, and a small kitchen. The kitchen has a microwave, oven, hob and fridge. The annexe suite can also be accessed via an external door and is great for guests after some peace and quiet during your stay. Four steps lead from the ground floor to the upper ground floor where there are five further bedrooms. One of the single bedrooms has a TV and an en suite shower room with WC, a second single bedroom with TV will need to share another room s en suite facilities to freshen up before and after adventures. Next, find the king size bedroom with en suite shower room and WC, a TV and patio doors leading to the decking great for an al fresco cup of tea in the morning. Then, there is a super king size bedroom (can be made up as a twin if requested at the time of booking) which boasts a TV and an en suite shower room with WC, and a further king size bedroom with TV, en suite bathroom and WC, and garden views. Heading up to the first floor via the small staircase in the kitchen, find a further lounge area with games console, TV and comfortable corner sofa. Next door is a single bedroom with TV and a family bathroom with a bath and separate WC. Completing the first floor, a king size bedroom has a TV and feature windows. Take care of sloping ceilings on the first floor. Great for fresh mornings and balmy evenings, take a drink out to the patio and decking with furniture to the side of the house. Behind the home is an unenclosed garden with plenty of space to play and catch up on the day s events. There is a lockable shed for bike storage and somewhere to keep outdoor equipment. There is parking for approximately ten cars. Please park along the wall side of the car park as access must be left clear to the neighbouring property.
