A short drive north of the cottage lies Whitehaven, a lovely coastal town, which supposedly inspired the New York streets system, with plenty of shops, restaurants and historical and cultural sites to visit, such as The Beacon Museum, Rosehill Theatre and St. James’ Church. Bega Cottage is also an ideal location for enjoying Cumbria’s mountains and country parks.
