The heritage railway steam train runs up and down the Poppy Line, from Sheringham to the popular Georgian town of Holt; which is renowned for its selection of cafes, independent shops, antiques and the arts. There is excellent walking and cycling on your doorstep with beautiful coastal and woodland routes to explore. Close by are stately homes such as Blickling Hall, Felbrigg Hall and the royal residence at Sandringham. There are also Nature Reserves which include local Beeston common, but also Blakeney and Holkham National Nature Reserves, as well as an off shore seal colony which is visited by boats run from Morston Quay. There are also local seasonal delights worth experiencing, from the Rhododendron display at Sheringham’s National Trust Park in May; the famous 1940’s weekend where the whole town steps back in time in September; Norfolk Restaurant Week with gourmet food at tempting prices in October; and finally Thursford’s Christmas Spectacular in November and December which is within easy reach by car. This really is a very nice cottage, for couples, friends or families, in a great location, whatever the time of the year.
