It has been extensively refurbished and is one of the loveliest houses in Tiverton, with picturesque Gothic windows and ideally located for friends and families wishing to explore this historic part of the country. Built originally to transport lime, it is now a beauty spot with yellow flags and arrowhead, darting dragonflies, coots, mallards, and moorhens, with pleasant walking along the towpath, or trips afloat on gaily painted barges drawn by magnificent shire horses. Tiverton has a selection of interesting shops, while countless bargains can be found at the varied market of the historic Pannier Market. Events in Tiverton include the annual Mid Devon Show in July. Within a five minute drive is a leisure centre where you have access to a swimming pool, gym, tennis courts and skateboarding and it is just ten minutes' drive to Tiverton Golf Course. Fishing is available on the River Exe and less than 2 miles away is the National Trust's Knightshayes Court, one of the finest surviving Gothic Revival houses built in the 19th century, with the garden being one of the finest in England. There are many other interesting local attractions, gardens and churches within easy motoring access and many wonderful village pubs to visit.
