Mayfield View is approached down a private driveway and sits in a tranquil spot behind the owners home. The vaulted ceiling, wood burner and contemporary kitchen create a wow factor space where relaxing, socialising, cooking and eating are priorities on the holiday menu. Flanking the living space are two en-suite bedrooms which offer privacy for two couples or the perfect space for a family of four. Pretty fabrics, crisp cotton sheets and fluffy towels are an added bonus. There is a large private sun terrace with a built in barbecue and a small sheltered garden area where you can pick fresh herbs or tasty raspberries from the owners outdoor larder. The resident cats and chickens take literally the right to roam so visiting pets need to be aware! Mayfield View is near the coast to coast cycle trail - a purpose built trail of country lanes and runs between Devoran and Portreath. Bike hire is available nearby at Bissoe - or you can bring your own bike which can be stored on site. Dogs and walkers may also like to explore the myriad of footpaths that surround this region. St Agnes is worth a trip with its cafes, galleries and pubs and lovely little beach with Truro and Falmouth worth a look too. Mayfield View would suit a family of four or two couples that would appreciate the lengths the owners have gone to provide such a lovely holiday home and with the warming wood burner it is a great holiday home at any time of year.
Porthtowan is a small village resting on west Cornwalls beautiful coastline, renowned for its Blue Flag beach, which at low tide exposes almost a mile and a half of fine, golden sands. A renowned surfing beach, patrolled by lifeguards during the summer season, the beach is also ideal for families with children. Surf hire and tuition is available on the beach and there pubs cafes, a beach shop in the town. A designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, cliff top walks along the South West Coastal path feature some spectacular scenery and lead east to St Agnes or west to Portreath. The city of Truro is 10 miles brimming with fine restaurants, cafes and shops. Whilst the vibrant maritime town of Falmouth is a little over 30 minutes drive and well worth a visit for its Maritime museum and varied selection of galleries and gift shops. There are days out for families and children at Flambards theme park in Helston and the Seal Sanctuary in Gweek. A great base for couples or families alike.
