The village is surrounded by great footpaths for walking, mostly leading into the wooded River Teign valley where you may spot deer, salmon leaping and other wildlife. The village itself offers a good food pub and friendly shop and there is another good pub nearby at Fingle Bridge. The open expanses of Dartmoor invite you to explore on foot or by car or bike, or head to Exeter with its city amenities including theatres and restaurants. Drewsteignton sits high above the River Teign as it meanders through a spectacular steep wooded Teign Gorge. It is a chocolate box village with a cluster of ancient cob and thatched cottages surrounding a square, complete with shop, ancient church, restaurant and very pretty pub.
