In the small Cornish village of Gunwalloe, only yards from a dog friendly, pebble and coarse sanded beach and coast path (please note its not safe to swim at this beach but Gunwalloe Church Cove is lifeguarded and only 1.3 miles away, Poldu beach is also lifeguarded and is just over the headland from Gunwalloe Church Cove.) is Chy Lowen, an impressive, newly built (2014), New England-style semi-detached house. Bright and roomy, with wood floors, the modern kitchen is a fabulous space for the family to get together. Glazed doors look over patio and garden and fill the room with light. Oak folding doors separate the comfy sitting room and can be opened to create one large open plan living space. On the first floor are three bedrooms a king-size double with a smart en-suite shower-room and lavish double cubicle. A further double, and a family room with adult bunks and additional day bed share the family bathroom. On the second floor, under the eaves, is a further large double with king-size bed and Velux windows. At the back of the house the enclosed lawned garden with table and chairs is a great spot for simply sitting and taking in the far-reaching views across the fields and surrounding landscape. Gunwalloe is part of the stunning Lizard peninsula and is close to great beaches (please note this is a coarse sand and pebble beach but is not suitable for swimming), pretty villages and brilliant walking country. The village has a good food pub and the beach was backdrop to TV's Poldark. In fact, you're spoiled for choice, with Several other beaches nearby including Gunwalloe Church Cove (1.4 miles away, lifeguarded, child friendly,) Dollar (1.3 miles away, dog friendly, often used for Poldark shoots), Poldu (lifeguarded, child friendly.) .... Flambards theme park, 4 miles. Seal sanctuary 6 miles. Helston town 4.5 miles. Porthleven 6.4 miles.
Gunwalloe village is situated amongst the sand dunes and cliffs on the west coast of the Lizard Peninsula with three beaches, a large stretch of sand reaching as far as Porthleven, Dollar and Church Cove and a popular pub, The Halzephron Inn, offering tables outside with views right across Mounts Bay.
